Potato Mozart

Premium Red Skin Potato from HZPC

The «Mozart» potato variety, developed by the Dutch breeder HZPC, is widely recognized for its consistent quality and high commercial value. For agricultural enterprises, this variety serves as a reliable solution for producing clean, marketable tubers with an attractive red skin appearance, perfect for the retail market.

Agronomic Protection and Resilience

One of the key reasons growers select Mozart is its robust defense profile. When integrated into your crop rotation, it significantly reduces the need for aggressive treatment against common soil-borne threats:

• Golden Potato Nematode: built-in genetic resistance helps protect yields in infected soil.
• Potato Wart Disease: the variety is highly resistant, ensuring safety and quality compliance.
• Common Scab: high resistance helps maintain a clean, smooth skin finish, crucial for modern mechanical harvesting and washing lines.

Operational Strategy for Growers

As a mid-to-late maturing variety, Mozart requires a consistent growing season to reach its full size potential. It is particularly valued by farms that prioritize long-term storage, as the tubers exhibit excellent dormancy and longevity in cold storage. Because of its density and skin resilience, it handles mechanized handling and grading with minimal bruising. In terms of agronomy, focusing on balanced potassium nutrition will enhance the tuber quality and ensure that deep red color that appeals to fresh produce buyers.
