Description BRYANSKY NADREZHNYY
Bryansky Nadezhnyy is a medium-late potato variety of Russian selection, maturing in 95-110 days. The plant is of medium height with semi-erect leaves of medium size and a large red-purple flower. Tubers are oval-round in shape with medium-depth eyes, smooth and red skin, and white flesh. The weight of marketable tubers ranges from 80 to 123 grams, and the number of tubers per plant is 8-12. The variety has high starch content — from 15.9% to 20.5%, exceeding the standards of conventional varieties.

The yield of Bryansky Nadezhnyy is high and stable, reaching 169-252 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 278 centners, significantly exceeding the standards of Nikulin, Zarevo, and Vetrazh. The tuber marketability is at 81-98%, and storability is 86-95%, ensuring good product preservation during storage. The taste qualities of the potato are rated as good to excellent, and its culinary type CD makes it versatile for making mashed potatoes, baking, and frying.

The variety is resistant to potato cancer pathogen and has moderate resistance to Colorado beetle. It is weakly susceptible to viruses, scab, and Rhizoctonia, but it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. According to the VNIIFitopatologii data, the variety is moderately susceptible to Phytophthora on foliage and moderately resistant on tubers. Due to its combination of high yield, good taste, and disease resistance, Bryansky Nadezhnyy is a valuable variety for cultivation in central regions.
