Description BELOUSOVSKY
The potato variety Belousovsky is a medium-late, universal Russian selection variety with a maturation period of 95 to 110 days. The plants are compact, medium-height, with round stems in cross-section and strong branching. The leaves are light green, medium-sized, moderately dissected, slightly hairy, and glossy. The flowering is abundant, with medium-sized white flowers having narrow lobes. The tubers are round-oval, with smooth, slightly netted yellow skin, white flesh, and small, sparse eyes, uncolored. The average mass of marketable tubers is 80-90 grams, and the number of tubers per plant varies from 8 to 14.

The variety is characterized by high yield — from 350 to 500 centners per hectare, with marketability reaching 80-90%. The starch content in the tubers is 18-19%, corresponding to culinary type D, making the potato ideal for making mashed potatoes and baking. The tuber flavor is rated as excellent, and the storage capacity of the variety reaches 94%, ensuring good preservation of the harvest for a long period.

The Belousovsky potato is resistant to mechanical damage and has good resistance to viral diseases, moderately resistant to late blight, scab, macrosporiosis, and rhizoctonia. It is also resistant to potato cancer pathotype I, but susceptible to golden potato nematode. Preferred cultivation regions are the Ural region. The breeder of the variety is the VNIIS of Potato Farming named after A.G. Lorha.
