Description BEAR
Bear potato is an early-maturing table variety distinguished by high yield and good consumer qualities. The plant is tall, intermediate type with semi-erect growth, medium-sized dark green leaves. The flower bud is medium-sized with moderate anthocyanin coloration on the inner side. Tubers are oval-round with small eyes, red skin, and creamy flesh. Marketable tuber mass ranges from 112 to 126 grams, and starch content varies between 14.2–17.7%. Taste is rated as good to excellent, making it attractive for table use.

The variety exhibits high marketability (85–95%) and excellent storability (97%), ensuring long-term storage without quality loss. Yield of Bear potato ranges from 201 to 306 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 417 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding standards of many known varieties. First harvest is possible as early as day 45 after emergence, and second harvest on day 55, enabling early harvest with good yields.

Bear potato shows resistance to several diseases, including potato cancer and golden potato cyst nematode. It is also resistant to crinkly and striped mosaic, enhancing its reliability in cultivation. However, according to the All-Russian Research Institute of Phytopathology, it is susceptible to late blight on both foliage and tubers, requiring adherence to agronomic measures for plant protection. The variety was developed by the Ural Agricultural Research Institute and LLC 'Agrofirm KriMM' and is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia.
