The potato variety Bogedar is a medium-early table variety with a vegetation period of 80 to 120 days. The plants of this variety are of medium height, well-branched, and compact, which facilitates care and harvest. The flowers have a red-purple corolla, and the tubers are rose-colored, round-oval in shape, with small eyes and white flesh. The average weight of marketable tubers is 70-80 grams, and the starch content varies from 13.9 to 14.4%, ensuring good taste qualities rated 3.3-3.9 points.
The Bogedar variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 310-320 centners per hectare at the end of the vegetation period, which is 22 centners higher compared to the standard variety Zov. By day 60-65 after planting, a significant yield of 90-120 centners per hectare can be obtained. The potato is resistant to the common biotype of late blight, has medium resistance to phytophthora of foliage and tubers, and also exhibits relative resistance to iron-stained spots and stem nematodes. Additionally, the variety shows field resistance to viral diseases.
Bogedar is not demanding in terms of weather and climatic conditions, allowing its cultivation in all regions of Ukraine. It is drought-tolerant, transportable, and has good storage qualities, not prone to rot, making it in demand on the market. Its high culinary qualities and stable yield make this variety one of the most popular and reliable for cultivation both in industrial scale and in private farms.
