Potato Acoustic

Engineering the Acoustic Variety

Dutch breeding powerhouse C. Meijer has engineered the 'Acoustic' potato variety to meet the rigorous demands of modern commercial potato production. This variety is designed to deliver a consistent performance, focusing on the intersection of culinary quality and field resilience.

Core Biological Resilience

The standout feature of Acoustic is its high resistance to Late Blight (Phytophthora). By incorporating strong genetic defense mechanisms, C. Meijer provides growers with a cultivar that significantly reduces reliance on intensive fungicide applications. This bio-technological advantage is critical for maintaining crop integrity during high-pressure growing seasons.

Tuber Morphological Specs

From a production standpoint, Acoustic is optimized for post-harvest logistics and market readiness:

• Uniformity: The consistent oval shape of the tubers ensures high efficiency in automated sorting and packaging lines.
• Skin Integrity: The smooth skin structure is not just for aesthetic appeal; it serves to reduce surface damage during mechanical harvesting and washing, directly improving the shelf life and overall market value.
• Flesh Characteristics: The light yellow flesh indicates a balanced nutritional profile, maintaining stability during various cooking processes, which is essential for the table potato segment.

As the originator, C. Meijer B.V. ensures strict genetic consistency across all seed lots. Acoustic represents a sophisticated solution for producers aiming to maximize yield while minimizing the risks associated with disease outbreaks, making it a reliable asset for a profitable supply chain.
