Sunflower Dragan — this is a medium-maturing Serbian hybrid with a vegetation period of 108-116 days, intended for classical cultivation technology. It is characterized by high drought resistance and adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, including forest-steppe, central and southern steppes, as well as dry regions. Plants reach a height of 150-170 cm, possess a strong and deep root system capable of penetrating soil to a depth of up to 2.5 meters, ensuring stability and resilience to high temperatures and drought. The Dragan hybrid has a high yield potential — up to 5.5 t/ha (55 c/ha) and high oil content in seeds, which varies from 49% to 53%. Plants have a medium stem thickness, moderately thin heads, and leafiness of 28-32 leaves, which promotes efficient photosynthesis and row closure by the bud stage. Seed germination rate is 20-22%, which is an important indicator of product quality. Sunflower Dragan has genetic resistance to major diseases, including rust and downy mildew (vetch) 6 races (A-F). The hybrid is also resistant to classical herbicides, facilitating crop care and protection. Recommended plant stand density at harvest time depends on the region and ranges from 42 to 54 thousand plants per hectare. Due to its characteristics, Dragan is an optimal choice for cultivation in drought-prone and variable climate conditions, ensuring stable and high yields.
