Description INDIRA
The Indira plum variety is a large, fast-growing tree with a raised, dense pyramidal crown and large, oval, light green leaves. This variety is early-ripening, with fruit maturing from August 10 to 15. Flowering occurs in mid-May; the variety is self-sterile, so for pollination, it is recommended to use the Volgskaya Krasavitsa and Skorospelka Krasnaya varieties. The tree is distinguished by its high winter hardiness and prefers moderate moisture and light conditions, although it can tolerate some shade. It is optimally grown on garden soils. Indira plums are large, uniform, round in shape with a delicate skin covered by a strong waxy bloom that comes off easily. The main fruit color is yellow with blue-violet spots; the flesh is orange, juicy, and delicate, with colorless juice and a sweet taste. The average fruit weight is about 45 grams, and the tasting score reaches 4.5 points. The fruits contain a significant amount of dry matter, sugars, and vitamin C, making them particularly valuable for dessert consumption. The Indira variety begins bearing fruit in the 5th-6th year after planting and is characterized by regular fruiting in favorable years. Yield is average, about 75 centners per hectare. The fruits have medium transportability, which allows for their use for distribution and storage. High resistance to moniliosis and attractive taste qualities make this variety in demand among gardeners who value early and quality dessert plums.
