Tonus

Pepper variety Tonus is an early hot variety with a maturity period from germination to fruiting of 105–115 days. The plant is bushy, compact, about 1 meter tall in greenhouses and 40–50 cm in open ground. Tonus is suitable for cultivation both in greenhouses and open ground, as well as in container culture. It is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus and capable of forming fruits well at low temperatures and insufficient light, ensuring stable yield even under difficult conditions. The fruits of pepper Tonus have a narrow triangular or conical shape, up to 13 cm long and about 2.4 cm in diameter. They are green in technical maturity and vivid red in biological maturity. The average fruit weight is 15–18 grams, with a wall thickness of about 1.5 mm. The pepper contains a moderate amount of capsaicin, giving it moderate spiciness and a spicy flavor. High content of dry matter, rutin, and vitamin C makes the fruits nutritious and tasty both fresh and after drying or preservation.
