Sultan

The Sultan pepper variety is a medium-maturing, thick-walled gogochar-type variety with high commercial and flavor qualities. Plants reach a height of 45 to 60 centimeters, and the vegetation period ranges from 158 to 165 days. The fruits are flat-round in shape with weakly expressed ribs, smooth surface, and wall thickness of 8 to 10 millimeters. Each fruit weighs between 100 to 150 grams. In the technical ripening phase, the fruits are light green, while at biological ripeness, they acquire a bright dark-red hue and glossy appearance. The Sultan variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 40–70 tons per hectare, as well as resistance to verticillium wilt and low temperatures, making it one of the few varieties capable of enduring brief cold spells. Due to their thick walls and excellent storability, the fruits retain their quality for a long time after harvest.
