Description Century F1 / Centurion F1
The sweet pepper Centurion F1 is an early indeterminate hybrid developed by the Dutch breeding company Rijk Zwaan. This variety features a powerful, moderately bushy, and heavily leafed plant with well-developed root and leaf systems. Centurion F1 is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses, demonstrating resistance to adverse stress conditions and good response to moderate agronomy and regular watering.

The pepper fruits have a conical shape, consist of four sectors, and are characterized by uniformity, density, and attractive appearance. Fruit length reaches 13-15 cm, diameter — 6-8 cm, wall thickness — 7-9 mm, and average weight of ripe fruit varies from 150 to 180 grams. During ripening, fruit color changes from milky-white or green at technical maturity to a rich orange-red at biological maturity. The flesh is crisp, juicy, and slightly sweet, containing a high amount of dry matter, making them ideal for fresh consumption, processing, canning, and drying.

The Centurion F1 hybrid possesses stable resistance to several diseases, including bacterial spot (races 1-3), potato Y virus (strain 0), and tobacco mosaic virus (pathotype P0). Due to the dense fruit structure and resistance to damage, the pepper withstands long-distance transportation and prolonged storage while preserving its commercial and flavor qualities. Recommended planting density is 3 plants per 1 m² in protected ground and 30-35 thousand plants per hectare in open ground.
