The Nokturn pepper variety is a high-yielding sweet pepper with dark purple fruits that turn dark cherry-colored when ripe. Plants reach up to 80 cm in height and have a compact form, requiring staking and pruning of side leaves up to the first internode, but suckering is not required. Fruits have a triangular conical shape with a pointed tip, average weight from 50 to 90 grams, and wall thickness of 3–4 mm. The variety is characterized by stable yield and disease resistance, making it attractive for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses.
Nokturn pepper is grown using seedlings. Seeds are sown at a depth of 1–2 cm, seedlings emerge within 5–7 days at temperatures of +13°C, optimal growth temperature is +20–30°C. Seedlings are transplanted at 60–65 days of age when they reach 20–25 cm in height, when soil temperature reaches +10–12°C and frost threat has passed. Plants are sensitive to temperature drops, insufficient light, and water deficiency, so for successful cultivation, light, fertile soils with pH 6.0–6.6 and proper care are required.
Nokturn pepper fruits can be used both in technical and biological ripeness. They are suitable for fresh consumption and processing. Due to their characteristics and resistance, this pepper variety is an excellent choice for hobby cultivation in greenhouses and open ground, ensuring a stable and high-quality harvest.
