Bell pepper HAMIK

A Compact Leader for the Fresh Market

Czech breeding by Semo has long earned the trust of professional vegetable growers, and the 'Gamik' pepper is a prime example of this success. This variety is rightfully considered a benchmark for small-fruited sweet peppers, targeting both commercial farms and home gardens where both taste and aesthetic appeal are paramount.

Agronomy and Productivity

Gamik is an early-ripening variety with a growth cycle of 72 to 78 days, making it an excellent choice for those aiming for an early harvest. The plant is versatile in terms of location: it delivers stable results in open fields as well as in plastic or glass greenhouses. Thanks to its compactness and high productivity, the variety allows for the most efficient use of greenhouse space.

Fruit Characteristics

The primary value of this pepper lies in its marketability and culinary qualities:

• Shape and Size: The elegant conical shape, with a fruit mass of 30-40 grams, makes it an ideal option for whole-fruit canning and culinary decorations.
• Color Palette: The transition from intense green at technical maturity to vibrant orange at biological maturity not only signals readiness for harvest but also makes the fruits highly attractive on the shelf.
• Structure: A wall thickness of 3-4 mm provides the necessary crunch while maintaining the tenderness of the flesh, which is highly valued in the snack-pepper segment.

By choosing Gamik, growers invest in proven European quality. The variety is undemanding regarding growing conditions but responds well to quality nutrition, allowing the full potential of its unique orange color and sweet taste to be realized.
