FLIGHT PLUS

The 'Flight Plus' pepper variety is a mid-early hybrid sweet pepper developed by breeders from NIISSS. The vegetation period is approximately 115-130 days, allowing harvest by late July and continued fruiting for two months. The fruits of this variety are large, conical with a wide base, reaching up to 15 cm in length and 6-10 cm in circumference. Individual fruit weight ranges from 100 to 300 grams. The fruit skin is smooth and shiny, changing color from light green in technical maturity to dark red at full ripeness. Inside the fruit, there are 2-3 seed chambers, and the wall thickness reaches 6 mm at technical maturity and 8 mm at biological maturity. The variety exhibits high resistance to blossom end rot and tolerates low temperatures, making it suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. Yield reaches up to 10 kg per square meter and 40-60 tons per hectare. 'Flight Plus' pepper is valued for its attractive appearance, juicy and crisp flesh, and a distinct spicy aroma that lasts for a long time. Taste qualities are rated as good to excellent, making this variety versatile for fresh consumption, canning, pickling, and stewing. Fruits contain 7.0–8.3% dry matter, 2.4–4.1% total sugar, and 52.2–57.6 mg of ascorbic acid per 100 g of raw product. Due to good storability and high transportability, the pepper retains its taste and appearance for two to three weeks after harvest. The seeds of this variety belong to the elite class and are suitable for planting both in open ground and under greenhouse conditions, making 'Flight Plus' an attractive choice for professional vegetable growers and farmers.
