Flight — a medium-early variety of sweet pepper, developed in Moldova and successfully grown under various climatic conditions, including Ukraine. The plant is compact, semi-determinate, about 50 cm tall, with multiple stems and a strong root system, providing good resistance to stress and adverse conditions. The vegetative period until technical maturity is 115-120 days, and until biological maturity — 140-150 days. Fruit set begins at the end of July and lasts for about two months, ensuring a prolonged harvest period. The fruits of the Flight variety are large, conical, up to 15 cm long and 6-12 cm in diameter. Average weight ranges from 180 to 300 grams. Fruit walls are 5-9 mm thick, giving them juicy, crisp flesh with a pleasant sweet taste. At technical maturity, fruits are light green, and at biological maturity — bright red. Inside, there are 2-3 seed chambers. Fruits have a shiny, smooth skin and high vitamin C content (ascorbic acid 52.2–57.6 mg per 100 g), as well as dry matter and sugars, making them both nutritious and tasty. The Flight variety is versatile in use: its fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, canning, pickling, stewing, and freezing. The pepper withstands long-distance transportation well and retains its flavor and appearance for 15-20 days after harvest. High yield — up to 10 kg per square meter and 40-60 tons per hectare — makes this variety attractive for farmers and gardeners seeking a stable and high-quality sweet pepper harvest.
