The 'Red Giant' pepper variety is a medium-maturing, high-yielding variety that fully justifies its name with large fruit size and high yield. The vegetative period lasts from 125 to 135 days, and until biological maturity — about 150 days. The plant is medium-height, reaching 55 to 80 cm, with dense foliage that effectively protects the fruits from sunburn and damage. The variety is adaptable to soil quality and climatic conditions, responds well to moderate watering and soil loosening, promoting stable growth and fruiting. Fruits have a conical shape with moderate ribbing, weighing between 150 to 180 grams. During ripening, the fruit color changes from olive to intense red. The wall thickness is 6-8 mm, the flesh is fleshy, juicy, slightly sweet, protected by a dense and elastic skin. Due to these characteristics, 'Red Giant' pepper is suitable for various uses: in culinary applications, for canning, freezing, and processing. Fruits tolerate long-distance transportation well and can be stored for extended periods under optimal temperature conditions. The variety shows high resistance to several diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus, wilting, phytophthora, and tip rot, making it a reliable choice for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. Yield ranges from 3.5 to 7.0 kg per square meter, confirming its high productivity and economic attractiveness for gardeners and farmers.
