THICK CHEEKS

Pepper variety "Thick Cheeks" is an early-maturing, high-yielding variety with uniform fruit ripening. The plant reaches a height of up to 80 cm and has a semi-determinate or compact medium-height bush form. The vegetation period lasts approximately 90-117 days, allowing for harvest within relatively short timeframes. This variety is characterized by high resistance to diseases and adverse weather conditions, including cold, making it suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses and polytunnels. The pepper fruits have a broad-conical or cube-shaped rounded form, with smooth and glossy skin. The average fruit weight varies from 100 to 200 grams, length reaches about 16 cm, and diameter at the widest part is approximately 6.5 cm. Wall thickness is 6-8 mm, ensuring fleshiness and crisp texture. In technical maturity, the fruits have a yellow-orange color with reddish sides, resembling apricots, and become deep red upon full ripening. The flavor is sweet, juicy, and free of bitterness, making this variety especially attractive for fresh consumption. The "Thick Cheeks" variety is characterized by high yield — up to 1.5 kg per plant — as well as good transportability and storability. It is versatile in use: suitable for fresh consumption, roasting, stuffing, and canning. Recommended planting density is approximately 60,000 plants per hectare. Seedlings are sown in February-March, and transplanting into the ground is done in May-June at soil temperatures not below 15 °C. Due to its characteristics and resilience, this variety is an excellent choice for gardeners and farmers aiming to obtain high-quality, delicious pepper harvests.
