Balcanica

Balcanica pepper is an early-maturing hybrid of sweet pepper of the Capsicum type, with a vegetative period of 70-73 days after transplanting seedlings. The fruits have a characteristic long-conical shape, reach 17-20 cm in length and an average weight of 150-170 g. In technical maturity, they are green, and in biological maturity — bright red, with a sweet taste and aroma, making them attractive for fresh market sales and long-term storage.

Balcanica plants are characterized by a strong root system and vigorous growth, which ensures resistance to stressful growing conditions, including cool and hot weather. The bushes are well-branched and consistently form fruiting, contributing to high and stable yields throughout the year. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in plastic greenhouses in spring and in open ground in summer, with seedling transplanting recommended.

Balcanica exhibits high resistance to several viral diseases, including PVY, Tm, Xcv, and TSWV, significantly reducing the risk of yield loss. The fruits are well-transportable and maintain their market appearance, making this hybrid advantageous for commercial cultivation. Seeds are produced by Rijk Zwaan (Netherlands) and are packaged in quantities of 100 and 1000 units.
