"Dozhnytsia" is a product of long-term work by the Institute of Horticulture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine. This winter apple variety was developed to meet the demand for a highly productive tree that combines excellent adaptability to Ukrainian climatic conditions with superior fruit quality. Bred as a stable commercial variety, it has established a reputation as a reliable choice for both intensive and home orchards.

Biological potential and resilience

The key advantage of this apple tree is its high resistance to fungal diseases, particularly apple scab, which significantly reduces the need for chemical treatments. Its strong winter hardiness makes it suitable for cultivation in most regions of Ukraine, where other varieties might suffer from temperature fluctuations.

Fruit characteristics

• Fruit weight: 160–180 grams.
• Shape: round.
• Coloring: yellow-green background with a prominent red blush.
• Flesh: creamy, juicy.
• Taste rating: 4.5–4.7 points.

The tree is characterized by moderate growth vigor, which simplifies maintenance and harvesting. The fruits exhibit excellent storage capability, retaining their marketability and taste for 5–6 months when stored properly. This makes "Dozhnytsia" a promising crop for ensuring a fresh supply of produce during the winter and spring months.
