Stark Sanglo

Stark Sanglo Apricot — a medium-late variety of American selection, developed in California, USA. In the climatic conditions of southern Ukraine, harvesting occurs in the third decade of July — beginning of August. The tree is medium-sized with a spreading, spherical crown, reaching a height of up to 3.5 meters, with crown size regulated by annual spring pruning. Recommended planting scheme — 3–4 meters between trees. Fruit-bearing begins as early as the second year after planting. Sunny southern areas with light loamy or sandy soils are suitable for tree development; planting is possible both in spring and autumn. The fruits of Stark Sanglo Apricot are large, averaging 150–180 grams, with individual specimens exceeding 200 grams. They have a round-oval shape with yellow skin covered by a bright burgundy or red blush occupying up to 90% of the fruit’s surface. The flesh is yellow, juicy, fleshy and fibrous, of medium density, with a very pleasant balanced taste — sweet with a slight acidity, imparting the fruit with a distinctive aroma. The stone separates easily from the flesh, facilitating consumption and processing. The variety is characterized by high yield and good winter hardiness, making it suitable for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine. It is resistant to major diseases, reducing the need for intensive plant protection. Due to its good transportability and commercial fruit quality, Stark Sanglo Apricot is suitable for both industrial cultivation and private gardeners seeking delicious and aromatic fruits from an early age of the tree.
