The «Festival» peach variety is a late-ripening variety with large and attractive fruits possessing high commercial and taste qualities. The tree is of medium height, reaching about 3.5 meters, with a compact and spreading crown that requires regular pruning to form the correct shape and improve fruiting. The fruits have an oval-round shape, weighing from 180 to 250 grams, with dense and thin skin of bright red color with yellow shades. The flesh is yellow, juicy and dense, with a pleasant dessert taste, easily separates from the pit. High sugar content ensures a sweet taste with a slight acidity and fruity notes, making the taste rich and harmonious.
The variety is distinguished by high yield — up to 40–50 kg of fruit can be collected from one adult tree. It tolerates winter cold well, withstanding temperatures down to -25°C, which allows growing it in regions with moderate and cold climates. «Festival» peach is resistant to main diseases such as leaf curl and moniliosis, however, regular treatments against pests are recommended for prevention. Successful growing requires fertile, well-drained soils and sunny, wind-protected places. Special attention should be paid to watering during the period of ovary formation and mulching of the trunk circle to retain moisture.
The late ripening period of the variety allows enjoying fresh and tasty fruits at the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. Thanks to slow ripening, the taste of the fruits becomes more rich and pronounced. These features make «Festival» peach attractive for gardeners seeking to obtain a quality crop with a long storage period and good transportability.
