Vicia faba variety Ulyanovec is a medium-maturing variety with high shattering resistance, ensuring crop preservation during harvesting. The plant is characterized by a medium stem height of 65 to 95 cm depending on weather conditions, with 13-15 internodes and medium leafiness. Leaves have two to three pairs of heart-shaped leaflets, while pods are straight, paired, of medium size with 4-6 seeds in each. Seeds are pink, smooth, and round in shape, with a 1000-seed mass ranging from 210-270 g, indicating good seed density and quality.

Variety Ulyanovec is distinguished by high yield, reaching up to 48 centners per hectare, and contains a significant amount of protein in the grain—ranging from 20.9% to 24%—making it valuable for both food and fodder purposes. The vegetative period is medium, with ripening occurring 1-2 days earlier than standard varieties, allowing efficient use of the variety in various climatic zones, including the Central, Volga-Vyatsky, North Caucasian, and Middle Volga regions.

Despite high resistance to shattering and medium resistance to lodging, the variety is susceptible to ascochytosis and root rots, requiring attention in agrotechnical care. Vicia faba Ulyanovec has good cookability and taste qualities, making it attractive for agrarians focused on obtaining a high-quality and high-yield product.
