Maize Dossian

Focusing on maximum grain yield

Dossian by Monsanto is a hybrid choice for farms focused on producing heavy, well-filled grain with high yield potential. Thanks to its biological traits, this single-cross hybrid demonstrates high plasticity in regions where the growing season allows the crop to reach its full potential within 140–160 days.

Agronomic management and crop density

• Grain type: Dent corn. This structure ensures excellent moisture release in the final stages of maturity, which is critical for minimizing drying costs.
• FAO rating: 90–1240. A high rating that requires careful planning of planting dates.
• Planting density: For areas with high moisture levels or under irrigation, the recommended density is 65,000–70,000 plants/ha. In extensive farming conditions or moisture-deficit areas, 55,000–60,000 plants/ha is the optimal choice.

Why choose Dossian for your operations?

This hybrid was developed as a specialized solution for grain production. Its physiology is geared toward forming a robust cob and accumulating dry matter. Dossian is ideal for operations with the technical capacity for efficient harvesting of mid-to-late maturity hybrids and the goal of maximizing tonnage per hectare.

When selecting this hybrid, it is important to consider the climatic zone: due to its long growing period, Dossian makes the most of the region's heat resources, converting them into high commercial grain yields. It serves as a reliable tool for agronomists prioritizing intensive cultivation practices and producing high-quality grain for elevators or processing.
