The "Starter" pea variety is an early-maturing yellow-seeded grain pea with upright stems, making it suitable for direct combine harvesting. Plant height reaches 85-90 cm, and the recommended plant density at harvest is approximately 30 plants per hectare. Seeds are round and yellow, with a 1000-seed weight ranging from 205 to 250 grams. A key feature of this variety is its high protein content in the seeds — from 20 to 22% — making it valuable for food industry and feed purposes.
"Starter" is distinguished by high resistance to lodging and stress conditions, ensuring stable and high yields even in regions with dry summers. The variety possesses genetic resistance to multiple diseases, including fusarium, septoria, ascochytosis, anthracnose, rust, powdery mildew, and downy mildew, significantly reducing the risk of yield losses and the need for frequent fungicide applications.
Thanks to its straight, non-arching stem, harvesting becomes simpler and more efficient. The recommended seeding rate is from 0.8 to 1 million germinating seeds per hectare, allowing for optimized planting density depending on growing conditions. The "Starter" variety is suitable for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, demonstrating high adaptability and stable yields.
