Pea Starter

Starter by NPZ Lembke: Focused on Pulse Profitability

German plant breeding from NPZ Lembke traditionally offers solutions for intensive farming where every day of the growing season counts. The 'Starter' pea is a tool designed for agronomists aiming for high-tech harvesting and predictable yields.

Field Practice: Thanks to its semi-dwarf plant type and excellent suitability for direct combining, this variety minimizes harvesting losses. High lodging resistance allows farms to skip windrowing operations, significantly reducing operating costs.

Crop Health as the Foundation for Yield

‘Starter’ demonstrates comprehensive immunity, which is critical for maintaining the crop's full potential. Farmers value this variety for its resistance to key pathogens:

• Reliable protection against Ascochyta blight and Fusarium, allowing for reduced fungicide applications.
• High resistance to Downy mildew and Septoria, a key advantage when farming in high-moisture regions.
• Minimized risks of Rust and Powdery mildew, ensuring the leaves maintain photosynthetic activity until the pods are fully filled.

Economic Efficiency

A maturity period of 80–90 days makes this variety a flexible tool in the crop rotation. With a 1000-seed weight of 200–220 grams and a protein content of 20–22%, 'Starter' meets the standards for both feed and food markets. It is a balanced variety for operations where the priority is high-quality grain production with minimal resource expenditure on disease control and complex post-harvest processing.
