Ajaxx — this is a simple mid-early two-line hybrid sweet corn, included in the State Register for the Central Black Earth region. The hybrid is characterized by medium plant height and intermediate grain type, which has a yellow-orange color at the top. Leaves are slightly curved with a small angle between the blade and stem, and anthocyanic coloring of roots and husk is weak or absent. The tassel blooms early, with a main axis higher than side branches, which have a small number of slightly curved branches. The ear is of medium length with short or medium shank and medium number of rows of kernels. The hybrid is intended for grain and silage production. Over the years of testing, the average grain yield ranged from 72.8–122 c/ha, with maximum values up to 181 c/ha, and moisture content at harvest varied around 24%. Grain contains 9.5% protein, 73% starch, and 3.4% fat, ensuring a high grain yield — about 78%. When grown for silage, average dry matter yield reached 195 c/ha, with a maximum of 293 c/ha, and dry matter content in green mass amounted to 33.1%. Protein in dry matter of green mass reaches 8.5%, ensuring high protein harvest per hectare. Ajaxx has good resistance to fungal diseases and lodging, but may be susceptible to bacterial and Fusarium ear diseases, as well as damage from corn borer. Due to its characteristics and adaptation to Central Black Earth region conditions, the hybrid is a reliable choice for obtaining high yields of grain and silage.
