The pea variety Kharkivskiy Etalonnyy is a mid-early maturing type recommended for cultivation in steppe, forest-steppe, and Polissia regions of Ukraine. Plants reach a height of 64–69 cm and have a simple bluish-green stem with 13–17 internodes. Leaves consist of three pairs of entire, egg-shaped leaflets, and flowers are white, arranged in pairs on the pedicel. Pods are straight with a pointed tip, up to 5.5 cm long, containing on average 5–6 seeds, with a maximum of 8 seeds. The 1000-seed mass ranges from 268 to 281 grams, and seed protein content reaches 24–24.3%. The variety is characterized by high resistance to a wide spectrum of diseases, including fusarium, septoria, ascochytosis, rust, anthracnose, powdery mildew, root rot, and downy mildew. Additionally, the pea exhibits increased resistance to lodging and shattering, which helps preserve yield. The vegetative period is 74–83 days, allowing the variety to be used under various climatic conditions. The potential yield of the variety reaches 60 c/ha, while average yields on state testing stations vary from 21.9 to 24.7 c/ha. The Kharkivskiy Etalonnyy pea is suitable for mechanized harvesting and is recommended for sowing at a rate of 1.1 million germinating seeds per hectare, ensuring optimal plant density at harvest time of approximately 30 plants per square meter. The variety was developed by the V. Ya. Yuryev Institute and registered in 2002 by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine. Due to its high technological and agronomic characteristics, this variety is a reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain a high-quality, high-protein pea harvest.
