Pea variety Patron is a medium-maturing type with a vegetation period of 73 to 78 days. Plants reach a height of 60–80 cm, with internodes up to the first flower measuring 13–14 cm. The stem is unbranched, long, and has many nodes, the first of which is fertile. Leaves have long and broad stipules with loose spotting. The flower has a short pedicel, medium-width sepals, and a rounded apex of the upper sepal. The pod is white, narrow, and slightly wavy. The pod is short and narrow, green in color, with no or partial parchmentiness, containing 4–5 elliptical seeds. Variety Patron exhibits high resistance to various diseases, including fusarium, septoria, ascochytosis, anthracnose, rust, powdery mildew, peronosporosis, and rhizoctonia rot, with resistance ratings from 7 to 8 points. It also shows high resistance to lodging and seed shattering, which helps maintain yield. The drought resistance of the variety is rated at 7 points, making it suitable for cultivation under various climatic conditions. The thousand-seed weight is 220–250 g, and the seed protein content reaches 20–22%, ensuring high product quality. The variety has been registered in the State Register since 2014 and is recommended for cultivation in Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia regions. The developer of the variety is the Institute of Plant Growing named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAN. The recommended seeding rate is 150–200 kg of seeds per hectare, allowing for optimized agronomic practices and high yield.
