Resonator is a type of forage pea widely used for producing green feed, silage, and hay. The seeds of this pea are a valuable concentrated feed containing 18-22% dry matter, of which 18-22% is protein, 3-4% fat, and 20-22% fiber. Due to its plasticity and adaptability, the Resonator variety grows successfully in various soil-climatic conditions, including northern and southern regions, as well as western and eastern parts of the country. It is characterized by early maturity, cold resistance, drought tolerance, and certain frost resistance, allowing high yields in different zones, including forest-steppe, steppe, and northern areas. The Resonator pea is highly resistant to low temperatures: germinates at 1-2°C, and seedlings withstand frosts down to -4 to -6°C. Winter-hardy varieties can endure temperatures down to -10 to -12°C and lower. The plant is moisture-loving, especially during the period from the beginning of bud formation to full flowering, when intensive growth and green mass accumulation occur. At the same time, there are sufficiently drought-tolerant varieties that successfully grow under plow-based farming conditions, for example, in Central Asia. Pea requires the same soil conditions as field pea. For protecting pea, including the Resonator variety, insecticides are used, which effectively combat a wide range of pests such as aphids, Bruchus, fruit moths, mites, thrips, longhorn beetles, and cutworms. These preparations provide a long-lasting effect and can be used in combination with fungicides, helping to preserve yields both in the field and in storage. Additionally, the pea protection system includes growth stimulants, herbicides, and fertilizers, which contribute to increasing yield and improving crop quality across all regions of Ukraine.
