Pea Kharkovskiy 74 / Kharkivs'kyy 74

Stable yields without extra hassle

Experience with 'Kharkivskyi 74' proves that this is a variety for those who value predictability in the field. Being a semi-leafless type, it demonstrates excellent resistance to lodging, which is critical for mechanized harvesting. The combine moves through the field cleanly with minimal losses, and the lack of complex header adjustments saves precious time during the busy harvest season.

Agronomy and protection

The main strength of this variety is its breeding by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute. In unstable weather conditions, it performs reliably: root rot and ascochyta, which often eat into margins with other varieties, do not become an issue here. The variety holds up well even with minimal fungicide control, which reduces costs per hectare.

Key planning parameters

• Vegetation period: 70–80 days. This is the ideal window for early clearing of fields for winter crops.
• 1000-seed weight: 280–300 grams. A large seed size that is highly sought after by processors and traders.
• Purpose: grain production.

The plant of medium height is convenient to manage and does not create excess biomass that needs handling. When sown with a drill, the variety shows uniform germination, ensuring even ripening and simplifying grain moisture management before harvest. It is a practical tool for the agronomist, requiring no complex management while providing stable performance in Ukrainian climatic conditions.
