Pea Ostinato

Stable yields and easy harvesting: why farmers choose "Ostinato"

The "Ostinato" pea variety from the German breeding company NPZ Lembke is the choice of farms that prioritize harvest efficiency and high commercial grain quality. The variety is optimized for the realities of modern intensive farming, where every day of equipment downtime or unnecessary field losses directly impacts the crop's margin.

Agronomic potential and characteristics

This is a mid-season variety with a vegetation period of 80–90 days, allowing for flexible crop rotation planning. The plant features balanced morphology: the medium stem height ensures excellent lodging resistance. This is a critical factor for achieving stable results across various soil types.

• 1000-seed weight: 240–260 grams. Large, well-developed grains are highly valued for both domestic sales and export shipments.
• Product quality: protein content ranges from 22–24%, which fully meets the standards of processing facilities producing feed or food products.

Field practice: harvest without losses

The primary advantage of "Ostinato" is its suitability for direct combining. Thanks to NPZ Lembke's breeding, the pods are highly resistant to shattering during maturation. This gives agronomists a window for maneuver: even during prolonged rainfall at harvest time, grain losses remain minimal. You receive a clean, uniform product without the need for desiccants, provided weather conditions allow for timely harvesting.

For agricultural enterprises, "Ostinato" is a reliable "workhorse" that forgives minor agronomic errors and guarantees predictable results. The variety is ideally suited for moderate climate zones, showing high adaptability to stress factors during the flowering and pod formation stages.
