Maize Shchekinsky 245 MV

A Reliable Choice for Intensive Farming

Developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Institute of Plant Production (NAAS), the "Shebekinsky 245 MV" hybrid is a well-established name in the mid-early segment of Ukrainian corn breeding. This simple hybrid, with an FAO of 240 (within the 90–1240 range), is specifically designed for growers who prioritize predictable results in temperate climates.

Agronomic Performance and Resilience

The core strength of the "Shebekinsky 245 MV" lies in its complex genetic resistance. The hybrid exhibits high tolerance to major pathogens and pests, allowing for a reduction in pesticide application during the growing season:

• Total resistance to common and head smut.
• High tolerance thresholds for stalk rots.
• Effective resistance to European corn borer damage.

With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, the hybrid offers significant flexibility in crop rotation planning. The flint-dent type grain boasts excellent quality indicators, with starch content reaching 75%, making the produce highly valued in both the feed market and the processing industry.

Economic Viability

Due to its dual-purpose nature—suitable for both grain and silage—the hybrid allows farmers to optimize harvest strategies effectively. Whether the goal is commercial grain production or the preparation of high-quality silage, "Shebekinsky 245 MV" proves its value through consistent yields and strong adaptability to soil and climatic conditions across Ukraine. Years of practical application have cemented its reputation as a reliable workhorse for agricultural enterprises focused on high-quality, starch-rich yields.
