Originator — Institute of Plant Physiology named after V. Ya. Yuryev, NAAS.
Variety characteristics. Variety — contecstum (linked), subvariety — vulgare (common yellow-seeded). Semi-dwarf, leafless type. Stem is normal. Plant height 55 — 75 cm. Nodes to the first inflorescence — 14-16. Flowers white, two flowers per pedicel. Pods are loose, medium-sized, blunt-tipped, well-formed, with 5-6 seeds per pod, maximum — 7. Seeds are rose-colored, flattened-round with smooth surface.
Agronomic characteristics. Grain-type use, medium-maturing. Vegetative period duration 79-85 days. Drought-tolerant. 1000-seed mass 260-280 g. Protein content in seeds 20 — 22%. Resistant to lodging, suitable for direct combine harvesting.
In the variety trial conducted at the Institute of Plant Physiology named after V. Ya. Yuryev, the highest yield of this variety was recorded in 2008 and amounted to 5.0 t/ha. According to field qualification tests in the Polissia region during 2009-2010, the average yield was 2.65 t/ha, with the maximum yield in 2009 — 3.79 t/ha at Andrushivsky DSS of Zhytomir Regional Center of Plant Breeding. In the forest-steppe region, the average yield during 2009-2010 was 2.72 t/ha, with the maximum yield in 2009 — 4.02 t/ha, obtained at Sumsky Regional Center of Plant Breeding. In the steppe region, the average yield during 2009-2010 was 2.71 t/ha, with the maximum yield in 2009 at Kirovohrad DSS — 4.22 t/ha.
In 2012, at the farm of TP «Intercenter Lux» (Slobodskoy district, Transnistrian Moldavian Republic), the yield of variety Oplot was 4.64 t/ha. In production conditions at LLC «Pobeda» of Fastov district, Kyiv region, in 2012, the yield was 4.00 t/ha.
