The Gubernator pea variety is a medium-late leafless pea variety (Pisum sativum L.) with a vegetative period of 60 to 77 days. Plants reach a height of 32 to 75 cm and are characterized by high resistance to lodging, making them a reliable choice for cultivation. The pods of the variety are strongly curved, with a blunt tip, containing 6 to 8 seeds, which have a spherical and smooth shape with yellow cotyledons and a light aril. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 150 to 220 g, and the protein content in the grain is 21-22%, ensuring high nutritional value.
The yield of the Gubernator variety is at the level of regional standards, with an average indicator of 16.6 c/ha, while in the Perm region the yield reached 22.3 c/ha, exceeding the standard variety Samarets by 2.2 c/ha. The maximum registered yield was 46 c/ha. Despite high resistance to lodging, the variety is slightly inferior to standards in drought resistance and has high susceptibility to ascochitosis and root rots, which requires a careful approach to plant protection.
Pea Gubernator is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions and can be used both fresh and for processing. Due to its high protein content and good agronomic characteristics, it is a valuable product for food and agriculture. It is recommended to use comprehensive measures against diseases and take into account the features of growing leafless varieties to achieve maximum yield and grain quality.
