Sugarcane corn hybrid Siricus is a medium-height, three-row hybrid developed for cultivation on open land and adapted to various climatic conditions. This hybrid is distinguished by high productivity and excellent sweetness of the fruit, making it popular among farmers. Siricus corn demonstrates excellent resistance to temperature fluctuations, drought, and atmospheric precipitation, as well as high resistance to diseases and pests, including tolerance to Fusarium and smut. Thanks to these qualities, the hybrid is successfully cultivated in the Polissia and forest-steppe regions of Ukraine using intensive technology.
The ears of Siricus corn reach a length of 25 cm and more, filled with large kernels of approximately 12 mm in depth, arranged closely in more than 16 even vertical rows. Each stalk forms a minimum of two equal-sized cobs weighing 430 grams each. Seedlings quickly establish themselves when grown using the seedling method and exhibit dynamic growth, enabling harvest as early as 69-72 days after planting. The corn exhibits good moisture release during ripening and high fruit preservation under refrigeration conditions.
The Siricus hybrid is characterized by its non-demanding nature regarding soil composition and resistance to lodging, ensuring stable and high yields even under challenging agroclimatic conditions. High heterosis contributes to excellent plant adaptation across various regions, confirming its popularity among farmers.
