Onion Roccade F1

A Reliable Red Onion for Long-Term Storage

When you are hitting yields of over 100 tons per hectare, storage performance becomes more critical than raw output. Over a 100–110 day growing cycle, it produces a dense, round bulb with a deep red color that commands premium shelf appeal.

Field Performance and Management

The biggest headache for any onion grower is Pink Root Rot.

• Mechanization friendly: Harvesting is a breeze. The bulbs are tough enough for mechanical harvesters and conveyor lines, with minimal bruising or skinning. This durability is essential for high-throughput sorting facilities.
• Crop Quality: With a dry matter content of 10–12%, the bulb strikes a perfect balance between firmness and texture, making it ideal for both fresh market and processing.

Storage Economics

The real value of this hybrid lies in the storage shed. With a shelf life of 9–10 months, you can hold your stock until the late spring market peaks, without worrying about massive shrinkage or spoilage. The bulbs maintain their deep red color and firm internal structure throughout the storage period. If you are looking for a reliable, high-margin red onion that survives the winter in top condition, Roccade F1 is a solid investment.
