ROKITO

Red onion variety ROKITO is a mid-season hybrid intended for growing bulbs from seeds in a one-year crop culture. The bulbs have an oval shape, weighing from 60 to 90 grams, with brown dry skins and juicy white flesh. The neck of the bulb is thin, single-budded, with a semi-sharp taste. ROKITO is distinguished by uniformity of shape and size, high density, and good skin, ensuring an attractive market appearance. The average vegetation period is from 110 to 130 days, and in some sources is indicated up to 125 days, corresponding to a mid-early maturity period. The ROKITO hybrid has high yields, reaching from 166 to 304 centners per hectare, which significantly exceeds the indicators of standard varieties. Maximum yield was recorded at the level of 317 centners per hectare. Bulb maturity before harvesting is 83%, and after ripening it reaches 99%. The plants are powerful with a strong root system, which promotes good development and stability. Onion is well suited for mechanized harvesting, which facilitates the harvest collection process. The ROKITO variety is intended for fresh consumption and has excellent qualities for long-term storage, allowing to maintain the market appearance and freshness of bulbs until the beginning of June, that is, up to 9-10 months. High crop preservation and a large amount of marketable onion after storage make this variety profitable for commercial cultivation. ROKITO is resistant to main diseases, including fusarium and peronosporosis, which additionally increases its reliability and attractiveness for agrarians.
