Red Rum F1 is a medium-early hybrid salad-type red onion, developed by the Dutch breeding company Bejo Zaden. This variety is intended for cultivation in open ground and is characterized by high adaptability, allowing successful cultivation on various soil types and in different climatic conditions. The vegetative period is approximately 112 days from emergence of seedlings, after which round bulbs weighing from 150 to 300 grams are formed. The plants are strong and resilient, well-tolerating drought and lack of irrigation, making them resistant to adverse weather conditions.
The bulbs of Red Rum F1 have a rich burgundy-purple color on the outer scales, which are dense and easy to clean. The inner scales are fleshy, crisp, red-purple in color with light veins.
