High-Yield Chive Production

The «Pikantny» variety, developed by the Federal Research Center for Vegetable Growing, is a professional-grade chive specifically bred for high-intensity farming. This perennial variety is optimized for rapid growth, reaching maturity in less than 90 days, which is a critical factor for farmers aiming for quick market entry.

Operational Performance and Efficiency

The standout feature of «Pikantny» is its exceptional productivity. Under standard agricultural practices, the yield of greens exceeds 100 tons per hectare. Its rounded bulbs, weighing between 80 and 90 grams, make the harvest versatile for both bunching sales and fresh-cut salad production.

• Market Focus: Designed primarily for the salad segment, the variety offers a mild, refined flavor profile that is highly demanded by retailers and the HoReCa sector.
• Perennial Advantage: Establishing a plantation provides long-term harvest potential, significantly reducing annual operational costs.
• Cycle Efficiency: The short maturation period allows for multiple cuttings per season, maximizing land use efficiency.

For best results in a commercial setting, «Pikantny» requires consistent irrigation and precise nutrient management. Because it is a high-yielding crop, it responds aggressively to fertilization after each cutting. Implementing regular inter-row cultivation is recommended to optimize root system aeration and ensure rapid regrowth of the green mass, securing consistent product supply throughout the season.
