The SAMSON onion is a perennial plant with an early maturation period, making it versatile in use. The bulb has a round shape and a grayish-white color with 2-3 outer scales, weighing from 70 to 90 grams. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to diseases and good winter hardiness, ensuring a stable yield. The dry matter content in the bulb is 26.4%, total sugar - 20.03%, and ascorbic acid - 38.8 mg per 100 g of raw material, indicating high quality and nutritional value of the product. The yield reaches 1.6 kg per square meter.
For growing the SAMSON variety, it is recommended to sow seeds in furrows to a depth of 3-4 cm with a distance between plants of 1-1.5 cm and between rows of 10-15 cm. During growth, regular care is required, including weeding, soil loosening, fertilization, and irrigation, especially during the active growth period. Irrigation should be stopped 30 days before harvest, which contributes to better onion storage.
The SAMSON variety is versatile in cuisine: it can be used fresh, for canning, and for preparing various dishes. Thanks to its resistance to diseases and good bulb preservation, it is suitable for long-term storage and transportation, making it attractive for both households and agrarians.
