Onion ON 10841

Reliable Yields for Late-Season Harvesting

The ON 10841 bulb onion from the Japanese breeding company Sakata is the choice for growers focused on long-term storage and premium produce quality. Within the late-maturing segment, featuring a 170–180 day vegetative period, this hybrid demonstrates exceptional predictability—a critical factor for professional farming operations.

Key Advantages of the Hybrid

• Transportability and Storage: The dense bulb structure and robust, dark-bronze outer skin ensure excellent shelf life during extended transport and long-term storage.
• Japanese Genetics: Sakata is renowned for its focus on bulb uniformity. ON 10841 is no exception; a high percentage of marketable yield allows for reduced losses during sorting and packing operations.
• Stress Tolerance: Despite the long maturation cycle, this hybrid is well-adapted to climatic fluctuations, typical of regions specializing in late-season onion production.

Who Is This Onion Best Suited For?

ON 10841 is ideal for farmers working the "long game"—those who plan to market their harvest through winter and spring. Due to its late maturity, it requires strict adherence to agronomic protocols, particularly regarding late-season disease control. This is not a "set it and forget it" variety; to unlock its full potential over 170+ days, consistent nutrition and an efficient irrigation system are mandatory.

If your goal is to secure a uniform, well-protected, and highly durable product that retains its commercial quality until the end of the storage season, the Sakata ON 10841 will prove to be a reliable asset in your crop rotation.
