Cabbage MOSCOW ULTRA

Durability and Storage Potential: The Moscow Ultra Profile

Developed by the Federal Research Center for Horticulture (led by S. K. Temirbekova and I. M. Kulikov), "Moscow Ultra" is a late-ripening white cabbage variety designed for professional cultivation. This variety is tailored for growers who prioritize long-term storage capacity and versatility in end-use, reflecting the reliability of its breeding background.

Growth Cycle and Morphology

With a vegetation period of 140–150 days from transplanting, "Moscow Ultra" requires a full season to achieve its optimal maturity. This extended timeframe allows the heads to develop the density and internal structure necessary for high-quality winter storage. The cabbage features a distinct round-flat shape and a grey-green color, serving as a hallmark for this market segment.

Market Application

The variety is highly valued for three distinct market sectors:

• Long-term Storage: Engineered for excellent storability, the cabbage maintains its freshness and structural integrity well into the spring season.
• Processing: The density and chemical composition of the heads make this variety an excellent choice for fermentation and industrial processing.
• Fresh Market: Its uniform, high-quality appearance makes it a strong candidate for winter retail distribution.

"Moscow Ultra" stands as a testament to specialized breeding, providing growers with a dependable, high-yielding option for the late-season white cabbage market.
