Chives "Fortuna" by Agrofirma Poisk: A Perennial Garden Staple

The "Fortuna" chives variety represents a high-quality selection product aimed at both professional greenhouse growers and home gardeners. Unlike bulb onions, this variety is prized for its tender, delicate leaves, which have long been considered a benchmark for culinary use and the fresh herb market. The development of this variety was a collaborative effort involving the Institute of Southern Vegetable and Melon Growing, ensuring robust adaptability to various climatic conditions.

Agronomic Features and Market Position

As a perennial crop, "Fortuna" exhibits excellent winter hardiness and rapid regrowth of foliage as soon as the snow melts. Key characteristics of the crop include:

• Plant Type: Chives that form dense, attractive clumps of tubular leaves.
• Culinary Profile: A mild, subtle pungency with no coarse fibers, retaining its characteristic flavor even when frozen or dried.
• Versatility: Perfect for the spring fresh herb market, as a refined garnish, or as a key component in gourmet salad mixes.

The reputation of "Agrofirma Poisk" as the originator of this variety is rooted in their rigorous adherence to varietal purity. In a competitive market, "Fortuna" holds a unique position as a consistently productive plant. It allows for multiple harvests throughout a single season, providing significant economic efficiency for farms operating on short production cycles.

For producers, this variety is synonymous with reliability. The crop responds exceptionally well to irrigation and organic fertilization, rapidly accumulating vegetative mass. Supported by a patent held by Agrofirma Poisk and regional research institutes, consumers are guaranteed a product that has undergone a full cycle of performance testing and adaptation to specific soil types.
