«Vyshukana» Chives: High Efficiency for Early Season Greens

The «Vyshukana» chives variety, developed by the «Mayak» Research Station (NAAS of Ukraine), is a reliable perennial crop designed for consistent greens production. It is a preferred choice for growers who prioritize rapid spring growth and long-term field productivity.

Field Application and Production Scenarios

• Early Market Access: With exceptional winter hardiness, «Vyshukana» initiates growth as soon as snow melts. This provides a clear commercial advantage, allowing producers to supply the fresh herb market during the early-season window when supply is low.
• Continuous Harvesting Cycles: The variety recovers rapidly after cutting. Under controlled irrigation and standard nitrogen management, the interval between harvests is approximately 20–25 days, enabling an efficient rotation system across production blocks.
• Market Appeal: The fine, tubular foliage is known for its mild flavor profile and high marketability. It maintains its tender texture for longer periods compared to wild varieties, which is a critical factor for wholesale distributors and the HoReCa sector.

Agronomic Value: As a perennial, the crop remains productive on the same plot for 4–5 years, significantly reducing labor and input costs associated with annual soil preparation and seeding. Optimal management involves timely hydration to prevent the leaves from hardening and periodic clearing of old debris. For Ukrainian farms, «Vyshukana» serves as a low-risk, high-return staple for year-round green production strategies.
