Onion ELECTION

Dutch breeding excellence for modern agriculture

The «Election» onion is the result of extensive breeding efforts by Syngenta Crop Protection AG. This F1 hybrid, officially registered in Ukraine in 2024, embodies modern European vegetable production standards. Developed in the Netherlands, the variety is tailored for professional cultivation in intensive farming systems, where predictable yields and high marketability are the cornerstones of success.

Market positioning and origin

The 2024 registration marks a significant expansion of Syngenta's high-performance onion portfolio. «Election» was developed to meet the needs of farmers for planting material capable of adapting to changing climatic conditions. Unlike previous generations, this hybrid has undergone rigorous selection for resilience against stress factors common in challenging growing zones.

Why «Election» sets a new standard

• Genetic Potential: The F1 status ensures crop uniformity, which is critical for mechanized harvesting and automated sorting processes.
• Origin: Direct selection by Syngenta Crop Protection AG ensures strict quality control at every stage of seed production.
• Relevance: The 2024 registration confirms that the hybrid meets the latest market demands for shelf life, flavor profile, and disease resistance.

Choosing «Election» is an investment in technology that has been validated in Dutch laboratories and is now available to growers. This hybrid occupies a premium market segment, where not only yield volume matters, but also the visual quality of the bulbs, which remains intact even after long-term storage.
