Onion SV4774NW

Optimized for Long-Term Storage

The SV4774NV hybrid, introduced by Bayer Holland B.V. and registered in Ukraine in 2023, is a classic Rijnsburger-type onion. Designed for growers who prioritize late-season market supply, this mid-late variety (115–125 days) produces uniform, round bulbs with a distinct golden-yellow skin. Its structure is specifically engineered to withstand mechanical harvesting and long-distance logistics.

Marketability and Shelf Life

The primary advantage of SV4774NV is its exceptional storage capability, maintaining market quality for up to 6–7 months. This makes it a strategic asset for producers looking to supply the market during the off-season. The density of the bulbs ensures they remain firm and visually appealing, reducing waste and maximizing profitability during the storage period.

Disease Resistance and Field Performance

High tolerance to Fusarium wilt (Foc) and pink root rot (Pt) significantly mitigates production risks, especially in fields with intensive crop rotation. This resistance ensures the plant remains healthy throughout the growing cycle, which is essential for developing the robust outer scales required for long-term storage and protection against environmental stress.
