Onion Snow Queen

A Reliable Bunching Onion for the Fresh Market

"Snezhnaya Koroleva" (Snow Queen) is a product of professional selection by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production. This bunching onion variety has established itself as a horticultural staple due to its consistency and high-quality foliage. Unlike wild perennial forms, this variety was engineered for commercial production, where the primary objective is maximizing the yield of tender, juicy greens per plant.

Agronomic Profile and Maturity

The variety is specifically optimized for early-season vitamin-rich harvests. It reaches market maturity within 90 days after emergence, allowing growers to organize staggered harvesting sequences, particularly in temperate climates. A significant advantage is the plant's high plasticity: it is well-adapted to varied soil and climatic conditions, which minimizes production risks when grown in open fields.

• Crop Type: Bunching onion (Allium fistulosum, grown for green stalks).
• Purpose: Salad market, fresh retail.
• Harvesting Method: Hand-picked only, ensuring the premium appearance of the stalks.
• Originators: Developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production in collaboration with the Vegetable Experimental Station.

"Snezhnaya Koroleva" demonstrates excellent regrowth potential. The stalks possess a mild, crisp flavor and retain their turgor long after harvest, which is critical for market success. This is a choice for professionals who value stable, predictable results throughout the growing season.
