The Citadel onion is a late-maturing variety intended for growing bulbs from seeds in an annual crop. The bulbs have a round shape and weigh from 80 to 120 grams, covered with dry brown scales, while the fleshy scales are white. The onion has a semi-sharp taste with a characteristic piquant aftertaste, making it attractive for culinary use.

The Citadel variety is distinguished by high yield, reaching commercial indicators of 229 to 326 centners per hectare, and in some regions, such as the Stavropol region, the maximum yield can reach 425 centners per hectare. Bulb maturity before harvesting is 86%, and after after-ripening it is 97%, indicating high product quality and good preservation during storage.

Plants of the Citadel variety have a well-developed root system, which ensures resistance to dry periods and promotes stable growth.
