Carrot NAGASAKI

Efficiency in Early Production

The «Nagasaki» carrot from Bejo is a Nante-type hybrid designed for growers who prioritize timing and high-quality yield. With a maturity cycle of 60 to 70 days, it is a versatile tool for early-season market supply, fitting perfectly into crop rotation schemes, especially when utilizing film or fleece covers to accelerate growth.

Operational Advantages

• Early Market Strategy: By utilizing film cover, growers can bring high-quality, vibrant orange carrots to the market ahead of the main season, capturing premium pricing.
• Industrial Processing: The uniform, cylindrical shape and intense color make this hybrid an excellent choice for processing facilities. It is easy to wash, grade, and pack, which significantly reduces labor costs and waste during post-harvest handling.
• Storage Capability: While primarily an early-to-mid season variety, the robustness of the root allows for short-term storage, providing flexibility in selling periods.

The strength of Bejo genetics in the «Nagasaki» variety lies in its consistency. Uniformity in size and shape is essential for mechanical harvesting and automated packing lines, ensuring that the final output meets modern retail standards. By choosing this hybrid, farmers mitigate the risks associated with uneven crop development, ensuring that a higher percentage of the harvest is sellable, uniform, and attractive to the end consumer.
