Onion KNIGHT

Agrotechnical profile of the «Rytsar» variety

The «Rytsar» onion from Aelita Agro-Firm is a mid-season, long-day onion variety engineered for high-quality production. With a growing cycle of 90–110 days, it is well-suited for temperate climate cultivation. Farmers choose this variety for its consistent performance and reliability in the field, making it a dependable option for commercial vegetable production.

Bulb morphology and structural integrity

The core strength of the «Rytsar» variety lies in the balance between bulb weight and shelf life. The rounded bulbs reach an average mass of 100–150 grams. The bronze-yellow outer scales provide a robust barrier against mechanical damage and moisture loss during transit and post-harvest handling. Internally, the bulbs feature dense, white flesh, providing excellent culinary characteristics that are highly valued in the marketplace.

Storage efficiency and post-harvest performance

The primary advantage of «Rytsar» is its superior storage potential. Due to the tight structure of its protective scales and a genetically optimized post-harvest metabolic rate, the bulb retains its quality for 6–8 months. This makes the variety an ideal choice for producers aiming for the winter-spring market. The inherent stability of the bulbs during storage significantly mitigates losses caused by fungal decay and basal plate sprouting, thereby enhancing the overall economic viability of the agricultural operation.
