Hercules Onion is a mid-early hybrid of bulb onion, characterized by rapid growth and fruit formation within 70-85 days from the sowing of the seed onion to the mass bowing of the leaves. The plant reaches a height of up to 35 cm, and the bulbs have a large size with a mass ranging from 120 to 160 grams. The shape of the bulb is round or wide-elliptical with a neck of medium thickness, covered with a dense golden-yellow skin. The inner scales are juicy, white in color, with a high content of dry matter - about 15.4%. The taste of the onion is pleasant, slightly spicy, without bitterness, with a piquant aftertaste, which makes it valuable both for fresh consumption and for processing.
The Hercules hybrid is characterized by high resistance to diseases, pests and infections, as well as to the formation of shoots, which significantly improves the quality and preservation of the yield. Thanks to the powerful root system, the plant withstands drought well and can grow successfully even with infrequent watering. The onion does not require special care and is suitable for growing on loamy soils rich in trace elements. For planting, it is recommended to maintain density: seed onions are placed at a distance of 10 cm from each other with a gap between rows of about 20 cm. The planting depth in spring is 3-5 cm, and in winter - 6-10 cm. It is important to plant seed onions at a stable air temperature above 10 °C to avoid rotting.
The Hercules variety is characterized by a long storage period, which allows keeping bulbs in good condition for a long time after harvesting. The yield is about 8 kg per square meter, which makes this hybrid productive and economically beneficial for growing. Thanks to its taste qualities, resistance and unpretentiousness, the Hercules onion is an excellent choice for both amateur and commercial growing.
